Nameplate is quite worn, and info can barely be made out: STEWART WARNING SIGNAL PATENTS APPLIED FOR (Stewart Logo) MODEL No. 114-A STEWART-WARNER SPEEDOMETER CORPORATION CHICAGOIt measures 8 5/8″ long, and 8″ tall from bracket through top of plunger.
Mounting bracket is 6″ long. The bell is 5″ in diameter. It works well and has a nice loud Ahooga sound when pushed . Corrosion on the nameplate make parts of it difficult to read.
There are no dings, dents or repairs although corrosion exists. This horn was designed to be mounted on the outside of the driver’s side of the auto and used as a warning horn by pressing down on the ratcheted plunger. T here is some wear as seen in pictures.
Made by Stewart-Warner Speedometer Corporation in Chicago, circa the 1920s.This horn was used by my father-in-law on his Model T Ford ages ago and has been in storage ever since.
