31-year-old Selena Gomez hinted that she is preparing to leave music after one more album. In an interview on the Smartless podcast, she talked about how she initially had a lot of fun with music and touring, especially during her participation in the TV show Wizards of Waverly Place. However, as she grew older, she realized that she wanted to find something more established.
The star said:
“I was doing my TV show at the same time, and I was just having fun, so I just continued. But the older I get, the more I think I would like to find something that I can just stop.”
Selena, who has been involved in various aspects of entertainment, including acting and singing, noted that she feels she has one more album left before she switches to acting, as reported by WomanEL.
She added:
“I feel like I have one more album, but I would probably transition into acting. I want to take a break because I’m tired.”
Since her first solo project in 2013, Gomez has released three albums, with her latest being “Rare” in 2020. Despite her success in the music industry, she did not tour after her “Revival” tour in 2016. This tour was interrupted due to issues with her mental health related to a lupus diagnosis, leading to a challenging period for the singer.
After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the artist sought treatment at a psychiatric facility. Despite facing setbacks and undergoing multiple rounds of treatment, she became a staunch advocate for mental health. In 2022, she spoke at a mental health forum at the White House, sharing her experiences and contributing to the conversation about awareness of this topic.
Gomez’s journey has been marked by challenges, but she has used her platform to shed light on the importance of mental health. Now, as she reflects on her future in the entertainment industry, the star looks forward to a more stable chapter, expressing a desire to focus on acting after the release of her final album.
