It might be argued that the fragility of life is what makes it so special, but that’s of small comfort to anyone who has lost someone they truly love.
It’s with that in mind that our prayers go out to the family grieving the loss of four siblings who were killed in a head-on, wrong-way crash involving an alleged drunk driver.
As per harrowing reports, 26-year-old Daniel Gonzalez, 23-year-old Fabian Gonzalez, 14-year-old Lilian Gonzalez and 9-year-old Daniela Gonzalez, of Waupaca County, Wisconsin all lost their lives while out holiday shopping on Saturday, December 16.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office claim that 47-year-old Scott Farmer was intoxicated while driving his pickup truck the wrong way on the highway.
Sadly, Farmer crashed into an oncoming SUV carrying the Gonzalez family children. The sheriff’s office confirmed that three of the siblings were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, while a fourth died after being transported to hospital.

Farmer reportedly appeared in court on Monday, December 18 and has been charged with four counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, as well as operating with a revoked license causing death.
After a judge set the accused’s bail at $750,000, Kurt Schilling, step-father of Daniel, Fabian, Lilian, and Daniela Gonzalez, expressed disappointment.
“How can I explain to my wife that all our children are gone?” Schilling said.
As per the criminal complaint, Farmer was aggressive towards firefighters as they attempted to get him out of his damaged vehicle after the crash.
“We have God, our family, our faith and our friends, our church family, and lots of good people around us, so in that sense, I know we will get through this somehow, but we won’t have a future with our children, with any grandchildren,” Schilling added.
Two GoFundMe pages have been set up to assist the Gonzalez family. One has thus far raised almost $37,000 of a $40,000 goal, while the other has raised over $92,000.
