Armed Robber Shot By Good Samaritan, Family’s Reaction Sparks Outrage

Adric White, 18, attempted an armed robbery at a Family Dollar, holding employees hostage at gunpoint. A Good Samaritan with a concealed-carry license intervened, warning White not to move. Defying the warning, White turned towards the armed bystander, who responded with five shots, neutralizing the threat and allowing others to restrain White. Despite surviving with five gunshot wounds, White faced armed robbery charges. His family, upset by the intervention, questioned the legality of the Good Samaritan’s actions. The bystander, choosing to remain anonymous, regretted resorting to bullets but emphasized feeling threatened by White’s gun-waving and the danger posed to the store’s occupants. White’s recovery was noted, emphasizing the risk inherent in armed robbery attempts.
