Every open field in America seems to suddenly become home to a Dollar General, according to a recurring joke.
Since the network of stores has locations all over the world, sometimes it looks to be incredibly accurate.
The well-known bargain department stores sell a wide range of goods, such as food, household goods, apparel, and outdoor gear.
Every store has similarities and differences. Fred is the unofficial rooster mascot of One Dollar General.
The customers realised they had to adopt him as well when they saw the note on the door of one of the drink coolers.
Letterhead read, “Dear Customers, There is NOTHING we can do about Fred (the rooster) he does not belong to any one [sic] that works here, but we do enjoy his company.”
Note to customers on Dollar General: “Dear Customers, There is NOTHING we can do about Fred (the rooster) he does not belong to any one that works here, but we do enjoy his company. He will NOT harm you, he is just probably looking to get fed. He is NOT allowed in the store so we do chase him away if it happens. We and corporation can NOT do anything about him, as he does NOT belong to us.”
Customers are informed by the dollar store’s note that the rooster is harmless and is most likely just searching for food. People are urged not to bring the rooster inside the business.
Fred the Rooster spends most of his time in the vicinity of the store’s front entrance. While some patrons are afraid of the small guy, others are eager to touch him.
A user shared the pictures on TikTok, claiming that Mr. General, the former cat mascot, was replaced with the rooster.
Although we are unable to confirm it, it seems plausible. If an animal is lost or in need of food, it is likely to live in an area where people come and go.
Numerous establishments take on stray animals as unofficial mascots, such as the rooster and the dollar store.
Many Home Depot home improvement stores adopt cats from their local shelter, such as Leo and Cheeks, to help with rodent control inside and outside the store.
People grin when they see animals! If Fred makes you smile, do tell others about him.
