Fans respond to Kevin Costner’s presence at the Golden Globes—and everyone’s saying the same thing.

Kevin Costner would most likely hope for a quieter 2024 than his 2023.

At the age of 68, the acting icon is no new to the media, nor to web articles and conjecture about his actions and accomplishments.

Even by the standards of a confirmed Hollywood A-lister, last year was a rollercoaster trip for Costner.

Much was made of his decision to quit successful program Yellowstone, but any criticism was quickly drowned out by the announcement of his split from longtime companion Christine Baumgartner.

The actor was alleged to have been astonished to learn that his wife was filing for divorce, kicking off a stormy time in which the pair battled it out in court.

Costner and Baumgartner had been married for 18 years when the latter filed for divorce on May 1, 2023, alleging “irreconcilable differences.” Costner was allegedly taken aback by her decision.

Fast forward to the end of 2023, and it looked like Costner was making plans to put his old marriage behind him. According to sources, the Yellowstone actor has started dating singer Jewel, and the two were recently photographed together on Richard Branson’s Necker Island at a tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation.

Costner may wish to remain under the spotlight in 2024, but it’s no surprise that he became a discussion topic after presenting an award at the Golden Globes last weekend.

Costner and America Ferrera presented the award for Best Female Actor in a Television Series: Musical or Comedy (The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri won).

And it appears that Costner and Ferrara’s riffing off one other struck a chord with the audience. Indeed, there was a lot of applause online for Costner quoting Ferrara’s monologue from Barbie.

“You know, you have a scene that I really love,” Costner stated on stage. “I think a lot of people enjoy that scene. ‘It’s simply difficult to be a woman.’ You’re aware that ‘You’re so attractive. You’re so brilliant, and it hurts me that you don’t believe you’re good enough. “That was pretty good.”

America’s reply was: “Did you, Kevin Costner, memorize my monologue about womanhood from Barbie?”

Though Kevin confessed he hadn’t memorized the entire thing, he went on to say (while attempting to contain his laughter): “But it’s an important message, and it always serves to remind me what’s possible in cinema. It simply reminds me that when we take our time, get it right, and cinema is at its best, it can be about moments you’ll never forget.”

As previously said, the presenting duos’ back-and-forth was highly appreciated by audiences worldwide.

“I was laughing so hard with Kevin Costner trying to be serious…and aging well!” “Yay America!” one individual wrote.

“He worked as much on that segment as he did on his english accent in Robin Hood,” another person said.

“Lmao he’s trying so hard to stay serious 😂,” a third said.
