The Sequel Features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito, and Eddie Murphy

Josh Gad, the actor from Frozen, shared some pages of a script he wrote for a sequel to the movie Twins. He said he was inspired by a recent commercial featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. Gad explained that he and his writing partner were hired to write a sequel called Triplets, which would also star Eddie Murphy. Although they had fun working on it, the movie never got made. The recent commercial brought back memories of working on the sequel.

In the commercial, Schwarzenegger struggles with saying the slogan due to his accent, and DeVito helps him out. It’s a funny reunion for the two actors.

Twins is a comedy about Schwarzenegger and DeVito playing genetically engineered twins. It was a successful movie when it was released in 1988.

The sequel, Triplets, would have involved the brothers discovering they have a third sibling. Ivan Reitman, who directed the first movie, was supposed to return for the sequel, but he passed away. Murphy was originally in talks for the film, but Tracy Morgan was later considered.

DeVito joked that Schwarzenegger should have done the sequel instead of becoming governor. Schwarzenegger expressed disappointment that the project was stopped after Ivan Reitman’s death, despite having everything in place for it to happen.
