Rodeo star’s 3-year-old son dies two weeks after tragic river accident

Levi Wright, the young son of rodeo star Spencer Wright, has tragically passed away. The three-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury from a near-drowning incident on May 21.

Levi was hospitalized in Salt Lake City after accidentally driving a toy tractor into a river near his home. Local law enforcement found him unconscious about a mile downstream. Initially declared brain dead, Levi unexpectedly showed signs of improvement.

“LEVI WOKE UP! I am shook, we don’t know much but the doctor said it was okay for me to get excited about that and I AM! My baby is so tough!” his mother, Kallie Wright, shared on Facebook. However, the following day’s MRI results were not promising.

“We’re shattered but it is just images that suggest a certain quality of life. Our real teller of all will be what Levi does over the course of a few days,” Kallie continued.

Despite his fight, Levi’s condition deteriorated. On June 2, Kallie shared the heartbreaking news: “Levi showed us just enough to buy us time for all of this. We prayed those things were him defying odds & proving to us that he wanted to stay here but we see now he wanted to give us time to find peace with letting him go.”

After extensive tests and consultations, the family decided to take Levi off life support. On June 3, family friend Mindy Sue Clark confirmed Levi’s passing on Facebook, expressing deep sorrow and focusing on the brief miracles witnessed during his fight.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wright family during this profoundly difficult time.
