She Was On TV When A Doctor Saw Her She Urged Her To Get Herself Checked Immediately

Nicole McGuiness always dreamed about buying a house on the beach with a view on the ocean. To make her house hunting even more exciting, she appeared on the HGTV show ‘Beach Front Bargain Hunt….’

HGTV is an American pay television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The network mostly broadcasts reality programming related to home improvement and real estate. Some viewers tune in to get inspired to remodel their house, get an idea for design and even house hunting.

But Dr. Erich Voigt, a New York-based ear, nose and throat surgeon from NYC Langone Health, was just shifting through the channels when he saw something strange that took all of his attention immediately. He noticed that the woman on the show had a small bump on the neck, a potential symptom of Thyroid cancer.

He was so concerned that he took a video of the woman that quickly took off on social media. The woman was soon identified, Nicole McGuinness, of Havelock, North Carolina.

McGuinness was previously a brain cancer survivor. She called her doctor to get that lump checked as soon as possible and was in fact diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and began undergoing proper treatment.

To her luck the doctor saw the channel and was persistent enough to find her and help her. Thanks to this amazing doctor, a life was saved.

Another time a father took a funny photo of his daughter, but he had no idea he was about to save her life…

As he took a photo of his daughter on her first bath, he found her expression funny and posted the photo online.

“Are her eyes a little yellow? It looks like it to me, but it’s hard to tell, because the entire photo is a little yellow. It’s probably nothing, but it could be a symptom for neonatal jaundice. If her skin and eyes actually look a little yellow, then maybe you should get it checked out. I’m a paranoid children’s doctor, hence my concern.”

The dad took this comment to heart and took his daughter immediately to the doctor. The paranoid comment of the doctor was confirmed: his newborn had jaundice and the doctor probably saved her life with that one frightening comment.

Sometimes reading comments can be a waste of time, but other times it’s a blessing.
