Woman faces a lot of criticism for naming her daughter after a Disney character…

Indy Clinton, a 25-year-old Australian mother, confidently chose the name Bambi for her newborn daughter, showcasing her determination in selecting a moniker. After giving birth in Sydney, she drew inspiration from the classic Disney character and Molly-Mae Hague’s newborn, who also shares the name. Despite facing online criticism for this unconventional choice, Indy remains unbothered by the negativity.

Gaining fame on the Chinese social media platform TikTok for her quirky videos featuring her family and alluring looks, Clinton took to the platform to share the coincidence of naming her daughter Bambi after Molly-Mae made a similar announcement on Instagram.

Indy’s affection for Disney’s Bambi dates back to her childhood, and she often reads a storybook version to her two-year-old son, Navy. Given her deep connection to the character, it felt natural for the 25-year-old Aussie mom to name her newborn after this beloved Disney figure.

Initially considering the name Paloma for her daughter, Indy’s encounter with the newborn’s «sweet, curious nature» and «big, brown eyes» led her to associate the child with the Disney character. This realization prompted her to abandon her original naming plan in favor of Bambi.

Now four months old, Indy’s daughter has left extended family members surprised at the choice of naming her after a Disney cartoon baby deer.

Reflecting on the criticism received, Indy acknowledges that four months ago, she believed Bambi to be a uniquely uncommon name. She shares her initial intention to name her daughter Paloma and mentions how reading the book to Navy one night inspired the lightning-strike decision to name the child Bambi.

Despite criticism, Indy remains steadfast in her choice, highlighting the trend of unique names and expressing that Bambi will fit in with contemporary unconventional names like Rivers, Bears, Forests, Stormis, and Wolfs. Indifferent to others’ opinions, she notes that people will criticize anything these days and sees naming her child after a Disney character as a conversation starter.
